For the second special of Independent Pixel, I'd like to bring in a special gem, and not to much surprise, it's a rather well-known cult-classic of a game. This game is Cave Story by Studio Pixel (haha, similar name!), and it gathers much inspiration from classic platformers such as Metroid and Castlevania, but has many special bits that make it a wholly new experience.

So, for the first special of Independent Pixel, I have two games of extremely similar style to show you. The first game is BIT.TRIP RUNNER, a videogame made exclusively for WiiWare by Gaijin Games.

Anyways, Here is a good question. What IS Independent Pixel? Well, instead of you hearing about the newest Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft release and all of its huge glory, you'll be hearing more about the back-aisle releases, ones you'll find to be much more unique and adventurous than what you'll usually see. The games that maybe only a few people worked hard on to entertain you, unafraid to make massive risks that no other game publisher would dare make. The software called an Independent Game.
